The all-sky camera provides a fish-eye view of the night sky above the Botanical Gardens. It captures still shots every few seconds from sunset to sunrise, resulting in hundreds of images each night. The video below combines these images to create a time lapse of an entire evening. A new video is uploaded every morning of the previous night.
Through the all-sky camera you can see how artificial illumination affects the colour and brightness of Bonn’s nights, and interacts with the changing nighttime conditions – a visual correlative to the information captured in the Data Explorer and LightClock.
